Network member Katherine Letley has received a full scholarship to undertake a PhD within the Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research at City University, London. This project will examine the relationship between midwives and women seeking sanctuary on the Syrian Vulnerable Person’s Resettlement Scheme. It will explore how this relationship is formed and how it can influence care outcomes.
Katherine will use multiple methods to examine the relationship, including critical discourse analysis of media representations of Syrian refugees, focus groups and interviews.
Katherine will be developing a PPI group of stakeholders to assist in finalising her methods for primary data collection.
Congratulations Katherine on gaining funding for such an important and innovative project.
